Close Combat Lethality Task Force is changing how the Army builds lethal soldiers and squads | Army Times

The director of the Close Combat Lethality Task Force, Joe L’Etoile, says that the buy-in across services and other entities has allowed it to focus efforts on equipment, recruitment, and training the “close combat 100,000” in the infantry, special operations and associated forces such as scouts and engineers who are at the edge of the tactical space.  Beyond upgrading equipment, the task force has been gathering data on human potential to better understand when people are likely to thrive or fail during the training cycle. An interview with L’Etoile reveals more detail about the innovations that have made the task force successful. By working with the lowest levels of command and seeing changes through to the top of the chain of command, the force has “reaped some amazing statistics.”
