A recent nationwide clinical trial and meta-analysis showed promise that fish oil supplements and vitamin D could reduce the risks of heart attacks and cancer mortality rates. Omega-3 fatty acids were confirmed to improve heart conditions while vitamin D supplements showed reductions in reducing death by cancer. While vitamin D does not stop cancer from occurring, the benefits can strengthen the body to be better prepared to handle cancer. Heart disease and cancer are the two greatest health threats to women, but more studies like this could help improve those rates.
