The US Department of Defense is completely reforming how it prioritizes and sells weapons overseas to realign with broad policy objectives and prevent misuse by allies. The new Defense Security Cooperation University was recently opened to bring 20,000 US government employees involved in security together to strategize. The DoD also wants to take advantage of allies to keep modernizing efforts in order to keep up with China who has emerged as a major economic and military rival. The vision for the University is to revamp training of US officials on how to avoid civilian casualties and adhere to laws of war.
