A lie detector called the Micro-Expressions Training Tool, inspired by the show Lie to Me, is being used to train airport personnel to identify suspicious people. The METT supposedly analyzes minor facial tics, but has been proven to be faulty and no more reliable than guesswork. Despite having no ability to train personnel to detect liars any better than they normally could, the METT is being used by the government.
