Oklahoma wins $572M in case against drugmaker in historic opioid trial | CNN

Cleveland County District Judge Thad Balkman has named Johnson and Johnson accountable for an appalling health epidemic that made history. As opioid drug makers, the company engaged in misleading marketing which falls under the Oklahoma public nuisance law. The vice president of the company claims that the verdict was a misapplication because “Johnson and Johnson did not cause the opioid crisis.” It said the drug company created a crisis that killed more than 6,000 Oklahomans, destroyed families and wreaked havoc on communities.
