All – From RADM Green, Commander Naval Special Warfare Command. It’s the message he sent yesterday to the entire NSW force following news of the death of Justin Meek. Very Respectfully, Mike Johnson, CWO-3 SEAL (ret)
Today we are devastated to learn that one of the lives tragically lost last night in Thousand Oaks, CA, was Justin Meek, son of our teammate, CAPT Roger Meek. It’s been said Justin was heroically shielding and helping others to escape the Borderline Bar and Grill. Of this we have no doubt.
There are no words that can truly comfort the Meek family at this time. They continue to have the love and support of our NSW community, some of you who have travelled to San Diego for what should have been a joyful weekend recognizing Roger’s almost 40 years of service.
Our hope is that Roger, Laura Lynn, their daughter, Victoria Rose, and all those who loved Justin, will eventually find healing in knowing that this young, brave man passed away while making the ultimate sacrifice for others. There is no higher purpose.
Please keep the Meek family in your thoughts and prayers.
Collin and Alyssa
