Special Forces Association of RI to hold bowling fundraiser at OML | The Narragansett Times

The Special Forces Association of Rhode Island will hold its annual bowling fundraiser at Old Mountain Lanes this weekend.

Established in 1964, the Special Forces Association (SFA) is a non-profit organization of current and retired U.S. Army Special Forces Soldiers—or “Green Berets”—with 84 chapters across the United States and a handful of other countries.

“It’s arguably the most robust regimental association in the army,” explained Chris Callan, a member of SFA chapter 48, based in Rhode Island.

Chapter 48 provides support assistance to two special operations units within the Rhode Island Army National Guard. In addition to raising money for a family relief fund, members of chapter 48 also act as a social support.
