Polish special operations forces (SOF) have been operating under a single command since 1 January 2018 following the signing of a document by Polish Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz on 13 November that reformed the chain of command of Polish SOF.

The document unified the command structure, which was previously divided between the Polish Armed Forces General Command Special Forces Inspectorate (IWS DG RSZ) and Special Forces Component Command (DKWS).

Previously, IWS DG RSZ was primarily responsible for planning the development of the special forces, purchasing equipment, and international co-operation, while the DKWS was responsible for training and activities at home and abroad.
