US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has started to receive deliveries of a new camouflage system for its lightweight ground vehicles.
The new system is being highlighted by Saab Defense and Security at this week’s AUSA exhibition in Washington, D.C.
‘This is a breakaway system that combines some mobile camouflage with traditional static camouflage,’ explained Brian Keller, president and general manager of Saab Barracuda.
‘And it’s predominantly used right now for special forces vehicles,’ he added.
‘When the vehicles are static the nets can be put out, providing multi-spectral protection against visual, thermal, near infrared, short wave infrared and broadband radar,’ he said.
