Aerial military entrances at college football games are awesome. There’s really no debating that.
But on Saturday, the college football world should consider itself lucky to have dodged a catastrophe during the pregame theatrics at BYU.
The Cougars, who were shutout by LSU in Week 1, are hosting No. 10 Wisconsin in Provo, Utah on Saturday.
During what appeared to be a parachute entrance from three United State Navy SEALS, one of the three military members came in so fast that he hit the wall near the endzone after presumably trying to land at the 50 yard line.
The first paratrooper appeared to come in a little hot, missing the mark but still landing safely on the field of play. But the second member of the team who came in after him came dangerously close to injury.
Thankfully, he stopped short of hitting someone in the crowd. And it appears that all involved avoided serious injury.
