A new History Channel drama series debuted Wednesday that focuses on the military’s most famous secretive unit: the Navy’s SEAL Team Six.

But viewers of “Six” shouldn’t expect to see many local landmarks.

Producers chose to film the series primarily in and around Wilmington, N.C., instead of Virginia Beach, where the unit that killed Osama bin Laden is based. Only exterior and aerial shots were filmed in Hampton Roads for a series that highlights life at work and home for the Navy’s most elite special operators.
