Several ex-SAS war heroes have spoken out in support of Sergeant Alexander Blackman and said they killed badly wounded Argentinian soldiers in the Falklands to ‘end their suffering’.

Sgt Blackman, 42, has been granted leave to appeal against a life sentence after being convicted of murdering a wounded Taliban fighter in Afghanistan in 2011.

A huge campaign was launched last year by fellow and former Royal Marines after Blackman, who was known as Marine A, was jailed by a court martial.
