Is the U.S. Army Developing a Drone ‘Shield’? | The National Interest Blog

The U.S. Army attacked a flying drone target with a Hellfire missile fired from a truck-mounted launcher designed to protect ground troops from enemy rockets, mortars, artillery fire, cruise missiles and aircraft, service officials explained.

The live-fire test, which took place earlier this year at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., a Multi-Mission Launcher (MML) shot the Hellfire out of one of 15 rotating launch tubes mounted onto a mobile tactical truck.
