The city of Fayetteville has forged a new federal partnership that is putting military veterans to work.
They are veterans such as Kenneth Tyree, a 57-year-old former Army sergeant who recently began working in the maintenance shop at the city’s bus transit department. He fetches spare parts for the buses, and sometimes orders them from local suppliers. He runs vehicle maintenance reports and organizes maintenance reports.
“I love it,” said Tyree, who did similar work on Fort Bragg. “I’m working with some great people.”
