For one colonel, it was a bittersweet farewell to a beloved organization. For the other, it was a homecoming.

After Col. Robert L. Wilson relinquished command of the 3rd Special Forces Group to Col. Bradley D. Moses on Wednesday, both men praised the soldiers and families who make up the most combat-deployed unit in the Special Forces Regiment and spoke of what sets the unit apart from others like it.

Wilson said he was walking off Fort Bragg’s Meadows Field with his head raised high, proud of his two years as the unit’s commander.
