Platelets Found to Make Fish Invisible in Open Oceans, US Navy Funds Further Research

Camouflage has been widely used in the military industry, but scientists have found that fish actually do it better. Two breeds of ocean fishes have been discovered to use light in order to become “invisible”.

Scientists have studied the bigeye scad and the lookdown fish. The two are exceptionally well in hiding from ocean predators by simply hiding in the light.
